ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY


Farrugia Woodworking is a bespoke furniture manufacturing company which has been operating in London’s East End for over 20 years. We manufacture high quality furniture for commercial and residential clients, and as a result of our service and commitment to the trade we have an established reputation for quality which is continuing to grow.

Farrugia recognises that as a growing company, and particularly because of the nature of our business, we have a responsibility to minimise our impact on the environment. We aim to continually improve our environmental performance and reduce these impacts as much as possible.

In particular our aims are to:

  • Comply with all current environmental legislation making sure all staff members are aware of our obligations.
  • Minimise our waste products by recycling where possible and seeking to dispose of waste with a duty of care using the least damaging option.
  • Seek to prevent pollution within all areas of production, and set realistic targets to reduce our impact on the environment.
  • Ensure purchases of timber are, where possible, from sustainable sources, using only suppliers who are members of the Timber Trade Association, or similar organisations with a sound environmental policy.
  • Seek to purchase environmentally friendly products where practicably possible.
  • Improve energy efficiency by monitoring use of electricity and gas and encouraging staff to be aware of the economical and environmental benefits to reducing usage.
  • Seek to establish and build relations with local environmental projects e.g. giving wood off-cuts to school projects.
  • Continue to develop and improve our environmental performance through staff training and involvement.
    The Managing Director is ultimately responsible for the Company’s environmental performance; however the daily implementation of the policy will be administered by the Environmental Representative with the participation of all employees.
